Overview
Did you know your hosting plan allows you to host more than one website? You don't need to buy a separate hosting package for every site!
If your plan supports multiple domains (all our plans do), you can use a feature called "Addon Domains" to run a completely separate website with its own email accounts and files, all managed from your existing cPanel.
Step 1: Buy the Domain Name
First, you need to own the new domain name you want to add.
-
Do NOT buy a new Hosting Plan.
-
DO go to Domains > Register a New Domain and purchase just the name (e.g.,
mysecondwebsite.com).
Step 2: Check Your Nameservers
Before cPanel allows you to add the domain, the domain must point to our nameservers.
-
If you bought the domain from Yenante Host: You are likely already set!
-
If you bought the domain elsewhere (e.g., GoDaddy): You must log in to their panel and update the Nameservers to:
-
ns1.yenantehost.com -
ns2.yenantehost.com
-
Step 3: Add the Domain in cPanel
Once the domain is registered and pointing to us, follow these steps:
-
Log in to your Yenante Host Client Area.
-
Click on Services and select your active hosting plan.
-
Click "Log in to cPanel" in the sidebar menu.
-
In the cPanel dashboard, look for the "Domains" section.
-
Click "Create A New Domain".
-
Enter your new domain name (e.g.,
mysecondwebsite.com). -
Important: Ensure the box "Share document root" is UNCHECKED.
-
Why? Unchecking this ensures your new website gets its own separate folder (usually
/public_html/mysecondwebsite.com) so it doesn't mix with your main site.
-
-
Click Submit.
Success! What happens next?
You can now upload files to your new folder using the File Manager, or install WordPress on this new domain using Softaculous (just select the new domain from the dropdown list during installation).
Troubleshooting
Error: "You cannot add this domain..." This usually means the Nameservers haven't updated yet. DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate globally, but usually happen within 1 hour. Please wait a bit and try again.
Error: "You have reached your limit" This means you have already used all the domain slots available in your current package. Please open a ticket to upgrade your plan to one that supports more sites!
